Ruben Micieli
Ruben Micieli, Italian pianist and composer, was born in Ragusa, in 1997, and started playing the piano at the age of five with Javorka Misič. Since the age of nine he is a student of Professor Giovanni Cultrera, with whom he graduated at the Istituto Superiore di Studi Musicali Vincenzo Bellini, Catania, with the highest marks and cum laude. In parallel, he concluded, again with the highest marks, the Virtuosity Program of the Academia Internacional de Música “Aquiles Delle Vigne”, in Coimbra (Portugal), under the guidance of the renowned founder of the latter, the pianist Aquiles Delle Vigne himself.
He attended masterclasses with professors such as Jörg Demus, Joaquin Achucarro, Roberto Prosseda, Valery Piassetski, Sergio Perticaroli, Violetta Egorova and Epifanio Comis.
Was awarded prizes and acclaim in several prestigious piano competitions such as the 9th International Franz Liszt Competition Weimar-Bayreuth, Mayenne International Piano Competition, International Piano Competition ClaMo “Región de Murcia”, XVIII Val Tidone Competition “Premio Silvio Bengalli”, XXXII Premio Venezia Teatro La Fenice, 90th Leopold Bellan Piano Competition Paris, V International Verona Piano Competition and the III Coimbra World Piano Competition.
At the age of 13 he gave his first recital and since then played regularly in major venues around Europe (Spain, Portugal, Italy, France, Austria and Germany), including halls such as Teatro La Fenice di Venezia, Teatro Municipale di Piacenza, Salle Cortot de Paris, Auditorium Victor Villegas de Murcia, Auditorium Paganini di Parma, Auditorium Palazzo Gran Guardia di Verona, Villa Pignatelli di Napoli and Teatro Rossini di Lugo di Romagna.
He performed as soloist with orchestras such as Staatskapelle Weimar (Germany), Orchestra Arturo Toscanini di Parma (Italy), Orquestra Filarmonia das Beiras (Portugal), Orquesta Sinfonica de la Region de Murcia (Spain), Chernovtsy Philharmonic Orchestra (Ukraine) and Bacau Philharmonic Orchestra (Romania).
