Awarded in over 30 piano contests, such as the international Mozarteum in Salzburg, Cittá di Marsala, Flame in París, Baltic in Poland, City of Panama, Vianna da Mota in Lisboa, Scarlatti Preis in Salzburg ,Huygens in Amsterdam or Virtuoso Prize in Rotterdam, among others, Carles Marín has offered recitals as a soloist in some of the most pretigious concert halls in the world, for instance, Concertgebauw in Amsterdam, Le Doelen in Rotterdam, la Salle Cortot in París, the Festival of Florence, the Festival of Salzburg (Grosser Saal y Wiener Saal),Salle Gothique in Brussels , Seymour Center in Sydney o the Festival of the Mediterranean, invited by the concertmaster Zubin Mehta.
In recent seasons he has performed some of the most important works of the piano and orchestra repertoire, such as the Second Concert and the Paganini Variations by Rachmaninov, the First Concert by Tchaikovsky, the two Concerts by Chopin, the Totentanz by Liszt , the Triple Concerto by Beethoven or Turangalila by Messiaen, together with the Orquesta de la Comunidad Valenciana- Palau de Les Arts, Orquesta de Valencia, Orquesta de Cámara Reina Sofía in Madrid, Orquesta de Cámara Andrés Segovia, Bach Fussion Ensemble, Mahler Chamber Soloists, Orquesta de Córdoba (in the International Festival ” Rafael Orozco”), Orquesta de Castilla y León, Orquesta de Cámara de Lisboa or Rotterdam Ensemble, amongst others, conducted by Enrique García Asensio, Omer Meir Wellber, Cristóbal Soler, Max Bragado, Srboljub Dinic, Jordi Bernácer, Joan Enric Lluna, Juan Luis Martínez ,Francisco Valero-Terribas or Josep Vicent.
His recent recording , “Piano Fire” (Nîbius seal), has been awarded with the pretigious ” Melómano de Oro “( 2016 ).
He is an active chamber musician ,and performs together with Josep Puchades y Francisco Varoch. He has also performed in recitals with Lluís Claret, Joan Enric Lluna, Moonwinds, Olivier Patey, Asier Polo , Trío Vanguardia or Trío Zilliacus- Persson- Raitinen, amongst others.
He studied in Torrent with Amparo Fandos , in Madrid with Joaquín Soriano , in París with Ramzi Yassa and in Rotterdam with Aquiles Delle Vigne. He has been given advice by personalities such as Joaquín Achúcarro, Michel Beroff, Alicia de Larrocha, Claudio Martínez- Mehner or Jorge Luis Prats.
He teaches lessons in some of the most important courses in Spain, as the Forum Musikae in Madrid or the one in the University of Valencia.
Currently, he is Professor of Piano at both Degree and Master´s level at Alfonso X El Sabio University of Madrid.
