Aušra Bernatavičiūtė

Aušra Bernatavičiūtė, Lithuanian pianist. Between 1986 and 1993 she studied at the
Music School in Tauragė (Lithuania). In 1997, completed her studies at the Juozas
Gruodis Conservatory in Kaunas (Lithuania).
In 2001, Aušra graduated at the Lithuanian Academy of Music and Theatre in Vilnius,
studying with Dr. Birute Vainiūnaite. Shortly afterwards, finished her studies in the Art
and Performance programme (performer and accompanist) and Master degree in
Music. In 2005, concluded her specialisation studies in Accompaniment and
Performance with Dr. Virginija Dabkute, receiving a scholarship from the Lithuanian
Academy of Music and Theatre in Vilnius. In 2023, obtained the title of Specialist in
Music at the Polytechnic Institute of Bragança.
Aušra Bernatavičiūtė has participated in several Masterclasses with renowned pianists
such as K. Gierzod, H. Henck, M. Rubackyte, J. Winerock, R. Sloan and others. Between
2001 and 2004 she won several prizes in National and International Competitions for
young pianists: in Greece (Athens) – 3 rd Prize in the International Competition Art and
Education in the XXI-st Century (2002); in Italy (Barletta) – 2 nd Prize in the 13 th Concorso
Internazionale per Giovani Musicisti Città di Barletta (2003); in Lithuania (Druskininkai)

  • 2 nd Prize in the International Competition-Festival Music without limits (2003); and as
    an accompanist: in Lithuania (Vilnius) – 2 nd Prize in the National Competition for the
    Vytautas Landsbergis Foundation Awards (2001); in Ukraine (Vorzel) – Grand Prix in the
    International Competition Art and Education in the XXI-st Century (2004). For this latest
    winning, in 2005 at an awards ceremony in Vilnius (Lithuania), Aušra was honoured by
    the President of Lithuania, Valdas Adamkus.
    In 2017, she held a Piano Masterclass at Esproarte in Mirandela (Portugal), and in 2023
    at the Fernandes Fão Music Academy in Ponte de Lima (Portugal).
    Since 1999, she performing as a soloist and accompanist with singers and chamber
    music ensembles. Aušra Bernatavičiūtė has given recitals as a soloist and accompanist
    in various concert halls in Lithuania, Poland, Spain, and Portugal. Since 2024, Aušra
    with a soprano and a flutist, have formed the chamber music group Trio Majestoso. In
    2025, the group also had the honour of receiving 2 nd prize at the CONVIMUS
    International Chamber Music Competition in Porto (Portugal).
    From 2001 to 2005, Aušra Bernatavičiūtė worked as a piano teacher and accompanist
    at the Music School in Varėna and at the National M. K. Čiurlionis School of Art in
    Vilnius (Lithuania). From 2005 to 2011, she was a piano teacher and accompanist at
    the Mayeusis Conservatory in Vigo (Spain). Aušra is currently a piano teacher and
    coordinator of the piano department at the Conservatory of Music and Dance in
    Bragança (Portugal). She is the artistic direction of the International Piano Competition
    of Bragança.
