Carolina Ferreira began her violin studies at the age of eight at the Almada Music Conservatory, where she studied with Professor Filipa Poêjo. In 2011, she continued her musical education at the Lisbon Music Academy.
In 2013 and 2014, she participated in the North London Music School International Summer Course, organized by the Purcell School, and in 2015 attended the Pro Corda Junior Course in the United Kingdom. During the 2016/17 season, she performed with the Sinfonia Juventi Orchestra and competed in the Nelspruit Eisteddfod Instrumental Competitive Classical Solos Competition in South Africa.
Between 2017 and 2019, she took part in the Festival Música Júnior, was a member of the Kent County Youth Orchestra, and also performed with the Westminster Philharmonic Orchestra. In 2018 and 2019, she was a finalist in the Medway Young Musicians Awards, and in 2020 she was invited to perform at the Maidstone Young Musician Competition. More recently, she participated in the Verão Clássico festival in Lisbon.
In 2023, she graduated from the Royal Birmingham Conservatoire, where she studied under Nathaniel Vallois and Jiafeng Chen. During her studies, she worked with the Welsh National Opera and the Castilian Quartet. In 2021/22, she attended masterclasses with Oliver Wille, and in 2023 with Bradley Creswick. Between 2021 and 2023, she was a member of the Arco Project, where she began teaching violin and received pedagogical training.
Throughout her musical development, she has worked with distinguished teachers including Pavel Vernikov, Svetlana Makarova, David Lefèvre, Julian Milone, Marina Keselman, António Nogueira, Anne Victorino d’Almeida, Francisco Javier Reyes Peña, Otto Michael Pereira, and Francisco Lima Santos.
She is currently a member of the Orquestra Sinfónica Juvenil and the Orquestra Académica Portuguesa. She teaches violin at the Academia de Música de Telheiras, Escola Lugar da Música, Escola Mi Maior, and Escola Básica Rainha Santa Isabel.
