Beethoven Prize | Bach Prize
The festival will select 2 pianists, to perform with orchestra Beethoven´s Concerto nr. 1 (Beethoven Prize) and Bach´s Brandenburg Concerto No.5 (Bach Prize).
1) Repertoire
The competition will consist of following rounds:
3 Pianists may be admitted to the Final of Beethoven Prize | 3 Pianists may be selected directly to the Final of Bach Prize
IMPORTANT: It is possible for candidates to take part in both prizes
3 pianists may be selected from the semifinals, should their level in the semifinal reach the standard considered appropriate by the jury, to perform with a second piano, the following concerto:
- Beethoven: Piano Concerto No. 1 in C major, Op. 15
3 pianists may be selected from the semifinals, should their level in the semifinal reach the standard considered appropriate by the jury.
Finalists must perform a free choice solo program (max. 20 minutes), which must include a significant work by J. S. Bach.
2) prizes
The winners of both prizes will be invited to perform in the Festival “HARMONIAS DE OUTONO”.
Beethoven Prize will perform with orchestra Beethoven´s Concerto nr. 1.
Bach Prize will perform with orchestra Bach´s Brandenburg Concerto No.5 in D major, BWV 1050
RULES
1. Competitors who are not ready to perform when called upon to do so may be disqualified.
2. The Jury retains the right to stop a performance if the competitor exceeds the allotted time.
3. Competitors cannot appeal against the decisions of the Jury.
4. Works must be performed by memory.
5. The jury reserves the right to select less finalists/prizewinners if the level of the performances is below the standard considered appropriate by the jury to perform as soloist with orchestra.
