Marina Kan Selvik is a pianist living in Oslo, Norway. She received her musical education from Moscow State Tchaikovsky Conservatory (prof.Alexander Mndoyants), Norwegian Academy of Music (prof.Jens Harald Bratlie) and Coimbra, Portugal (prof. Aquiles Delle Vigne).
She has recently participated in masterclasses during Bergen Internation Festival with Leif Ove Andsnes, Richard Goode and Jan Jiracek von Arnim . She is laureate and winner of several international competitions and is prizewinner from Hannover, Germany, Murcia Spain, Val Tidone, Italy, Mayennes, France, Nordic Piano Competition, Malmø, Sweden, winner of “Marmortaste” and First Prize Munich International Piano Competition,Riga in Latvia etc. She gives regularly concerts at festivals and concert halls in different countries, she is regularly invited to the International Grieg-Ciurlionis Festival in Lithuania to give recitals and be soloist with Lithuanian National Orchestra and Kaunas Symphony Orchestra. She was selected among young Scandinavian musicians as soloist with Bergen Philharmonic Orchestra (Prokofiev Concerto No 2, conductor Rory Macdonald) and Trondheim Symphony Orchestra (Rachmaninov Concerto No 3, conductor Lars-Thomas Holm). She gave master classes in Armenia and was at the same time invited to be soloist with the Armenian State Orchestra in Yerevan. She performed Rachmaninov´s Third piano concerto during the tour of St.Petersburg State Symphony Orchestra in Russia, Finland and Norway, under conducting of Alexander Titov with great success. Her recent concerts in Edvard Grieg Museum “Troldhaugen” turned into a huge and very memorable event with great acclaim and praise, where she also gave a special concert for Her Majesty Queen Sonja. Similar response was given when she gave recitals at the Norwegian National Opera in Oslo. The Norwegian Radio Symphony Orchestra recently invited Marina to be soloist at their annual New Year’s concert and she will return to Murcia to be soloist with OSRM orchestra in December 2018.
