Pianist Carles Marín is one of the most sought after Spanish pianist of his generation. He regularly performs recitals in the most prestigious concert halls all around Spain where he is a regular guest and has given recitals in festivals such as the Salzburg Festival (Grosser Saal del Mozarteum), Concertgebouw in Amsterdam, Le Doelen in Rotterdam, Salle Cortot and l ‘UNESCO in Paris, Salle Gotique in Brussels, Florence Festival, Seymour Center in Sydney, Mediterranean Festival, “Rafael Orozco” Festival in Córdoba, Manuel de Falla Auditorium in Granada, Palau de la Música Catalana, Palau de la Música in Valencia, Fundación Juan March de Madrid, Festival d’Echternatch- Luxembourg or Festival di Lucca.

He has performed as a soloist with the main Spanish orchestras and European ensembles like the Orquestra del Palau de Les Arts, OSCyL, Rotterdam Emsemble, Mahler Chamber Soloists, Reina Sofía de Madrid, Orquesta de Valencia, Orquesta de Córdoba, International Festival of Godella’s Orchestra, Moonwinds Simfonic or Andrés Segovia. He has performed under important batons, such as Jordi Bernácer, Max Bragado, Sborljub Dinic, Enrique García Asensio, Omer Meir Wellber, Juan Luis Martínez, Lorenzo Ramos, Cristóbal Soler, Francisco Valero Terribas or Josep Vicent.

As an improviser, transcriptionist and composer, his “Paraphrase on Wagner’s  Cavalcade of the Valkyries”, published by Boileau editors in Barcelona stands out. Other works by Marín are Reflexió, Tribute to Nelson Freire, The Maiden’s Wish variations or Perpetuum Mobile.

Mr. Marín is an active chamber musician collaborating with a great range of artists, such as clarinetists Joan Enric Lluna, Olivier Patey or José Franch-Ballester, with violinists Giorgji Dimcheski, Vicente Huerta or Jesús Reina, violist Josep Puchades, cellists Lluís Claret, Rafal Jezierski or Asier Polo, as well as with the piccolo Francisco Varoch or the Zilliacus-Persson-Raitinen Trio.

Top Prize Winner of several international competitions, such as the best soloist at the Mozarteum in Salzburg, the Scarlatti Piano Competition in Austria, the Concours Flame in Paris, the Yamaha Foundation of Europe, Juventudes Musicales of Madrid or José Roca, he also received the Prize Huygens of Amsterdam for his artistic excellence, in addition he has been awarded in more than forty other competitions, such as the Citta di Marsala, Baltic from Poland, Panama City, José Iturbi from Valencia, Manuel de Falla from Granada, Virtuoso Prize, Ibiza or Frechilla- Zuloaga from Valladolid.

He is currently a piano teacher at the Musical Arts in Madrid (MAM), as well as a permanent teacher at the Sardoal International Piano Meeting. (Portugal). He is also a member of the faculty of the Miami International Piano Festival Academy.

In his youth he worked with Amparo Fandos, María Gil, Joaquín Soriano, Ramzi Yassa, Aquiles Delle-Vigne, Mario Monreal and Claudio Martínez-Mehner. Other important musical inspirations in his journey have been Giselle Brodsky, as well as Joaquín Achúcarro and Edna Golandsky. He has also received advice from Alicia de Larrocha and Zubin Mehta.
