Mamiko Suda

Mamiko SUDA was born in Tokyo, where she began her musical studies from an early age. At the age of 12, he won a major piano competition in Japan, which led to concerts throughout the country, which were broadcast on both radio and national television. She continued his studies at the Toho High School of Music in Tokyo. After graduating with highest honors, she received a scholarship from the French government with a recommendation from Vlado Perlemuter to enter the Paris Conservatoire. In 1972, she graduated as Premier Prix, Première Nommée and the “Roger Ducasse Special Award” for piano and chamber music. She was prizewinner at “Concurso International de Jaen” in Spain and at “Concurso Internacional de Casagrande” in Italy. She was a finalist in the “F. Busoni International Competition” and in the “Clara Haskil International Competition” in Switzerland. In 1980, she won first prize at the “International Mozart Memorial Competition” in London and performed with the London Mozart Players as well as solo at the Queen Elizabeth Hall. She had the privilege of studying with Annie Fischer in Budapest at the time. In 1985 she received the “Chopin Prize” from the Chopin Society in Japan. Since then, she has toured extensively in Asia and Europe and has played with the most important orchestras. Currently, she is a professor at Toho University of Music in Tokyo and is frequently invited to give masterclasses join the jury of international piano competitions around the world.
