Claudio Constantini holds an international and multi-faceted career as a performer of two instruments, the \npiano and the bandoneon, as well as being a composer in demand. Born and raised in Lima (Per\u00fa) into a \nmusician\u00b4s family, Constantini\u00b4s unique style is defined by its solid classical roots paired with a passion for \npopular music genres, among which Latin American music and improvisation play a key role. \nFor the upcoming 2021\/22 season he will appear as soloist with important orchestras such as the WDR \norchestra (Cologne) or the Robert Schumann Philharmonic (Chemintz) in Germany, and in Spain with the \nBilbao, M\u00e1laga, Alicante and the Andalousian Youth Orchestra with whom he will premiere his own \nbandone\u00f3n concert\u00f3, commissioned on occasion of Astor Piazzolla\u00b4s centennary of birth. \nIn the 2019\/2020 season, Constantini appeared in such places as the Bayerische Staatsoper (Munich), \nNational Auditorium (Madrid), as well as festivals such as the Ravinia Festival (Chicago) or the Chopin \nFestival (Valldemossa). He did tours in United States, Colombia, Peru, and South Korea. \nConstantini\u00b4s engagements for the season 2018\/2019 included appearances at the Ravinia festival \n(Chicago), the Bot\u00edn foundation (Santander), and the Philharmonic Societies of Bilbao, Zaragoza and Lima, \nPer\u00fa. He performed with the philharmonic of the Czech Republic, the Extremadura orchestra, the Requena \norchestra, and the Murcia orchestra, this last one performing Piazzolla\u00b4s double concerto for bandone\u00f3n \nand guitar together with guitarist Manuel Barrueco. \nDuring the 2017\/2018 season, he performed at acclaimed concert venues such as the Berlin Philharmonie, \nthe Konzerthaus in Vienna or the Palau de la M\u00fasica in Barcelona to name only a selected few, as well as \nappearances in festivals such as the Rheingau festival (Germany), Klassik an Dom (Linz, Austria) and Ravinia \nfestival (USA), among others. \nHe has released a total of 6 CD albums, all of which have had great international reception. His CD titled \nAMERICA has earned him a nomination for a LATIN GRAMMY award (2019) in the category of “Best \nClassical Album.” \nTogether with the IBS Label (Spain) he is recording the complete piano Works of Claude Debussy, of which \nhe has already released two albums (the first volume was selected among the 10 best albums of the year \n2015 by Fanfare magazine, USA). He has also collaborated in over a dozen productions for various artists. \nConstantini has been invited to teach masterclasses at several institutions in Europe and abroad. He \norganizes the yearly “Primavera Pianistica” masterclasses and competition in Belgium, aimed at young \npianists who wish to develop their artistry further. \nHe initiated his piano studies with his father (Gerardo Constantini) and later received his bachelor\u00b4s degree \nin Finland, his master\u00b4s degree in The Netherlands, and finally the diplome de concert in Paris, all of which \nearned him the highest distinctions. He was a pupil and eventually assistant of maestro Aquiles Delle \nVigne, disciple of legendary pianists Claudio Arrau and Gyorgy Cziffra. \nHe began his bandone\u00f3n studies on his own in 2003 and later under the guidance of bandoneonist Victor \nVillena. Passionate about the instrument, he has a special interest in broadening its repertoire and has \npremiered a few works, including the bandoneon concerto of composer Daniel Schvetz together with the \nMetropolitan Orchestra of Lisbon in 2011.
