Masterclasses

General Conditions

Application

The deadline for receiving applications is June 5th, 2023 (Masterclasses), and June 3rd, 2023 (Competition).
As the number of participants is limited, students are accepted in the order of arrival of the applications. Late applications, after the deadline, when accepted, will suffer an increase of 10% on the  fees. Application will only be considered definitive as soon as the course fees are confirmed in our bank account.

Course dates

The lessons will begin on the morning of 26th June and will end on the afternoon of 2nd July. Students are encouraged to arrive on the 25th June and leave on the morning of the 3rd July to make the most out of the event.

Conditions of participation

There is no age limit for attending the master classes. If you are a minor, you must travel with a parent/guardian or an official permission stating that you are allowed to travel by yourself under your own responsability. Travel costs, as well as visa and health insurance arrangements are the responsability of the students.

Accomodation

Participants (active or listeners) may be accommodated, as guests, with friendly families of Sardoal. Host families will be assigned to participants by order of application. Alternatively, the organization may help participants searching for paid local accommodation to find the option that best suits them. Depending on the evolution of the coronavirus pandemic, accommodation with families may be limited/suspended in the 2023 edition.

Bus Lisbon/Sardoal/Lisbon

On the 25th June a free Bus will pick up students in the airport of Lisbon, departing at 19.30. Also on the morning of July 3rd, the Bus will take students to Lisbon airport, from Sardoal, arriving before 11.30. The organization may not be held responsible for any delay in arriving to the airport as a result of an unavoidable accident or Act of God. Students not able to take the Bus must travel on their own.

Sightseeing and Open Air Activities

Touristic tours and open air activities will be organized, in parallel with the masterclasses. Participants will be informed later on on this subject.

Concerts

During the festival, several concerts will take place in the cultural center and historical sites through out the city. The professors of the festival will select the students who will partipate in these official concerts. (note: students will not be offered remuneration for their participation in these concerts).
Repertoire is selected by the organization committee.

Competition

A Piano Competition will take place during the event.

Practice facilities

Several pianos will be available for practicing. A schedule for practicing will be organized, the amount of hours per student will depend on the number of enrolled students.

Lessons

Students may apply to study with the permanent faculty or/and with honour guest professors. It might be possible to make lessons with different professors, depending on the availability. 

Passive students

Passive students may listen to all lessons and events and take profit of accomodation and event facilities like a regular student.
